Simply the Best!

Dust and spore free. Dust is extracted to prevent lung infections and to prevent & treat allergies.  Bedder contains none of the toxins and oils found in some wood shavings.

Ultra absorbent.   Bedder can absorb up to 3 times it's weight in water, minimizing odor and enabling the use of less bedding at the same time.   Bedder absorbs from the bottom up which helps to keep the top layer (and the animal) nice and dry.

Insulation & cushioning.  3" of Bedder is comparable to the cushion of 6" of wood shavings.  Bedder has an insulation rating of R3.5 versus R2.5 for many types of wood shavings.

Economic - both in purchase and in on-going management costs.   The reduction in material use and in waste disposal should be realized as a decrease in expenses when used as recommended.  Cost Benefits

Easy to use and conveniently packaged.  Excellent for animals at home and on the go.

Quick to compost and enriching to your soil.  Typically 4-6 weeks, not 14 months like pine.

Each bag is a minimum of 35 pounds and the 3 cubic foot bag expands to 8 cubic feet.

Animal Friendly, Earth Friendly, User Friendly and Budget Friendly!

Testimonials :

Being a horseman of many years and after numerous world championship titles, I have always been challenged with the perpetual “Bedding Issue”. It has been a continual battle with the good aspects vs. the bad aspects of bedding and none of which resulted in a win-win situation. My idea of good bedding is one that is not dusty, absorbs well, is easy to compost and is packaged in a manageable size to take to the horse shows. Dust is a major issue with me, since several problems such as upper respiratory problems and colic stem from a dusty environment, not to mention making the barn very dirty as well. Absorption is also a necessity in a stable that is used primarily as a business where odors can be an issue. Being able to manage the bedding is important, which includes the ease of composting it. Lastly, the need to transport bedding to the horse shows with ease is essential, bedding should be easy to stack in the trailer and be packaged in a compressed form to utilize available space.

Surprisingly,
my wish has come true, a bedding product that meets every expectation and more....

David M. Riddle    World Class Horses     http://www.worldclasshorses.com

“At first we were hesitant to try cardboard animal bedding. But after trying it we realized the full usefulness of the product. Not only is it more absorbent but it also held the moisture better when it was hot. Our sheep also benefited from the outstanding odor control. It is the best bedding product that we have ever used over the top of sand. All in all it is the best bedding with a better value combined with superior performance”

Mr. Ron Pulse - Laramie County Community College     Wyoming State FFA Advisor, Cheyenne, Wyoming

“When I come to choose bedding for my horses”, says , “my first consideration is their health. My last consideration is economics. That is why I was amazed to find Cardboard Horse Bedding not only performed better than any of the other bedding materials available in the market it was also less expensive than most!”

John Witaker (International Show Jumping Champion, UK Olympic Champion)

"As well as being a superior bedding it has significantly reduced the mortality rate in my game bird and poultry breeding program"

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I clean stalls with Bedder?

A. Muck your stalls daily to remove solids. Bedder mucks similar to traditional shavings, however since Bedder is dust free, you can also use a small leaf blower to blow the chips away from the solids and pick them up minimizing waste. Any saturated material will also not blow away and can be removed. Damp material will dry and can be mixed back in.

Q. How long will Bedder last?

A. Again, it depends on the horse’s habits. If the methods described above are used, it can last up to three months or more by topping off with small amounts as they are removed.

Q. How much Bedder does it take to do a 12 x 12 stall?

A. We recommend 3 to 4 bales per stall depending on how deep you like it.  Bedder has twice the cushion of pine shavings, so 3” will give you the same cushion effect of 6” of shavings.

Q. Is Bedder safe for farm animals?

A. Yes. Sheep, goats, swine, cattle, camalids, dogs and poultry are all safe on Bedder. Premium Bedder is made from pre-consumer waste corrugate. The cardboard is composed of cooked-down (very short) wood fiber, held together by vegetable starches. It is totally benign to animal digestive systems and will not cause harm or impactions. This is backed by research from CSU, LSU and Texas A&M and 25+ years of use in Europe. Some animals may pick at or eat small amounts of cardboard, but as a general rule they do not.

Q. How does Bedder work?

A. Corrugate has a surface tension, allowing urine to flow through to the bottom and then be absorbed from the bottom up, greatly reducing ammonia levels in the stall. Bedder will hold up to three times it’s own weight in water.

Q. What is the difference between Premium and Economy grades

A. Premium is 100% pre-consumer corrugated.  Economy is clean post-consumer corrugate and may contain inks and a small amounts of tape.  Both grades are dust extracted and very safe for animals and the environment.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Please give us a call at 970-699-9912

The total fertilizer value of the manure produced by Colorado’s horses is estimated to be $10 million per year!! *

The unique properties of Bedder allow rapid composting and an excellent worm breeding environment!  The corrugations in Bedder hold the oxygen necessary for effective composting and it contains no oils and acids to impede the process.  The glue (Corn Starch) in cardboard provides an exceptional feed source for the worms to grow.
