Construction Waste Recycling

Have you thought about the materials that are left over after a new house or a building has been completed?  The amounts are staggering – an estimated 35% of all waste going to landfills in the state of Colorado comes from construction and demolition waste.  Waste-Not has one of the few full-service construction recycling programs in the state and we’ve designed a system that works not only for builders and developers, but for the environment as well.

As a diversified company, Waste-Not provides not only quality recycling collection services for companies and business accounts, but also for builders and developers with its Construction Waste Recycling program.  Waste-Not is currently the only full-service construction waste recycling company in the state, offering comprehensive onsite recycling services.  The company recycles wood and cardboard, as well as metal, concrete, office paper, and commingled beverage containers.  In the near future, the program will be expanded to include recycling of carpet and asphalt shingles. The construction waste recycling projects were started by Waste-Not in 1999, and have seen tremendous success.  Diversion rates have been a minimum of 50%, with builders and developers reporting positive feedback on the program.

Construction waste recycling programs are tremendously challenging to begin and to maintain.  Waste-Not Recycling has overcome these obstacles by adapting years of experience in recycling with large, corporate clients, as well as by forming a recycling team with years of experience in working with builders.  The company has a proven formula that combines building knowledge and consistent, strong training in order to make the onsite recycling programs effective.  Waste-Not also has the ability to provide consulting services in setting up construction waste recycling programs, waste analysis and reduction, environmental business audits, and energy efficiency.  The company is in the process of becoming a regional partner in the Energy Star program, as well as certifying members of the construction waste recycling team as LEED consultants

Currently, Waste-Not is handling recycling programs on both residential and commercial construction sites in central and northern Colorado.

Construction waste and daily recycling is an important aspect of any LEED project.   Waste-Not Recycling, Inc. has worked on many LEED projects in northern Colorado.  Detailed management, diversion reporting and specific site recommendations are what set Waste-Not Recycling ahead of our competitors.

We have a LEED AP on staff and would like to share our recycling experience with you. If you would like to discuss specifics of your project please contact us directly: Gary Gettman, our Construction Recycling Manager at (970)669-9912 or buildgreen@waste-not.com
