A change is coming for recycling in Fort Collins.

The city-run Recycling Drop-off Facility, which has operated next to Rivendell School on Riverside Avenue for several years, is moving to a new location Aug. 22.

The new site, 1903 S. Timberline Road, will offer the familiar roll-off receptacles for glass, newsprint, cardboard, paper and plastics at no charge.

The Timberline Drop-off Facility also will provide places to drop off hard-to-recycle materials for a $5 entrance fee.

The recycling area for conventional materials will be unstaffed and open during daylight hours year-round.

The area for hard-to-recycle-materials will be staffed and open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday during summer. The areas will close at 4:30 p.m. in winter.

Materials accepted for a fee include paint (no charge to visitors bringing only paint), used motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, scrap metal, concrete, rubble, and electronic waste (charges for individual items apply.)

Organic debris also will be accepted, with a limit of two yards per visit and additional fees applied for materials with higher processing costs.  Information: fcgov.com/recycling/timberline.php
