Press Release; Dateline Europe, Barsmark A/S in partnership with American company Waste-Not Recycling:
In 2002 Barsmark A/S developed a new technology to recycle prepreg glass fiber production waste material from the wind turbine blade manufacturing industries in Denmark and Germany. The resulting product is a glass fiber board, which is used for various industrial applications, predominantly in the Danish market. “Recycling technology is a growing business for us. Apart from the recycled glass fiber board our product range also comprises a water resistant recycled polyurethane board and a non-combustible foam glass insulation material made from recycled glass” says Paul-Erik Andersen, CEO at Barsmark A/S.
The new partnership with Waste-Not Recycling, of Loveland Colorado will involve technology transfer, production, sales and marketing of prepreg glass fiber production waste in the United States, and will be the first step in a planned long-term relationship between the partners. Todd Loose, VP at Waste-Not Recycling states: “We are very excited to work with Barsmark and have the opportunity to implement this technology in the aerospace and wind turbine industries in the US. This will ultimately prevent the landfilling of prepreg glass fiber waste. There will be significant environmental benefits achieved as we support the environmental stewardship efforts of our customers along with providing job opportunities in our community.”
